Open Enrollment 2023

Open Enrollment is the period where you can review, elect, decline, or make changes to your benefits for the upcoming calendar year.  Other than experiencing a Qualifying Life Event, Open Enrollment is your only opportunity to make benefit changes so make sure you complete the necessary steps if interested in making changes to your current elections.

Online Enrollment will begin 10/24/2022 and end 11/04/2022

Below are important details about the open enrollment period and effective date of your requested elections.

  • All open enrollment changes are to be made on ADP and must be completed by 5 PM on Friday, November 4, 2022.

  • The changes that you make to your benefits will take effect on 01/01/2023.

You must complete ADP open enrollment if:

  • If you currently have a Health Savings Account, Medical FSA, and/or Dependent Care FSA in 2022 and want to continue participation in 2023. Your existing enrollment will not carry over. You will need to re-enroll in a HSA, FSA, or Dependent Care FSA, for 2023.

  • You want to make any changes to (or waive) your medical, dental, or vision plans.

  • You are not currently enrolled in any medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, or Dependent care plans, and wish to be enrolled effective 01/01/2023!

You do not need to complete ADP open enrollment if:

  • You have waived coverage for all benefits, and you wish to continue waiving coverage.

  • You are satisfied with your current health, dental, and vision enrollments, and don’t plan to make any changes to these benefits. Health, Dental, and Vision enrollments will roll into the new year. *Again, please note, current HSA, FSA, or Dependent Care FSA will require a new enrollment for 2023.

2023 Plan Changes

We encourage you to educate yourselves about GreenState Credit Union's health coverage and other benefits, prior to making your final benefit elections for the upcoming year. This page, along with the Insurance tab is a good place to start.  Below you will find information highlighting changes for the calendar year of 2023.  You can also hear about these changes by watching this short 6-minute video.

Medical Rates

We are pleased to be able to continue to provide a choice in health plans for all staff by offering both a PPO and HDHP.  Due to increased utilization and growth, health insurance rates are increasing by 16%. Additionally, benefit deduction frequency will transition from 24 times per year to bi-weekly (26 times per year). As a result, the overall per pay period impact to health premiums over the course of 26 pay periods, will be a 7% increase. Please take a look at the documents below to review the per pay period and monthly premium amounts as well as the Summary of Benefits and Coverage for both plans offered.

MedOne Pharmacy Benefit Manager

We will continue to use MedOne as our Pharmacy Benefits Manager and encourage you to review log-in and contact information for MedOne via by navigating to the insurance tab. In 2023, there will be an increase to prescription co-pays at non-preferred pharmacies of Walgreens and CVS. For prescriptions purchased through those two pharmacies, the co-pay tiers will be $20/$45/$60. For prescriptions purchased at other preferred pharmacies, such as Hy-Vee or Walmart, there will be a lesser co-pay of $4/$25/$40. Additionally, due to the ongoing trend of high-cost prescriptions, Walgreens will no longer be a covered pharmacy under our benefit plan beginning in 2024.  Now is a great time to begin conversations with your provider and consider switching pharmacies.  Be sure to sign up for individual access to the MedOne portal to search for the lowest cost prescriptions in your area (under Rx Price Finder).   If you have questions regarding your specific prescription(s), please reach out to MedOne's Member Advocate Team at 888-884-6331 for assistance.

New in 2023: Regenexx

Regenexx benefits have been added to our health plan. Regenexx provides the worlds most advanced stem-cell and blood platelet treatments for orthopedic injuries, arthritis, and spine pain. They offer non-surgical regenerative options for individuals with chronic pain looking to avoid elective surgery.

Health Savings Account (HSA)

GreenState Credit Union will continue to offer the opportunity for HDHP participants to open and fund a Health Savings Account (HSA) with pre-tax dollars through payroll deduction.  We are pleased to share that an employer contribution will once again be provided in 2023 for all participants who contribute a minimum of $10 per pay period.

  • The employer contribution for 2023 will be $28.85 per pay period for Employee only coverage ($750.10 annually), and $57.70 per pay period for all other coverage levels ($1500.20 annually).

  • For those that are paid monthly, the employer contribution will be $62.50 per pay period for Employee only coverage ($750 annually), and $125.00 per pay period for all other coverage levels ($1500 annually).

For staff that participated in the HSA plan in 2022, current enrollments WILL NOT automatically roll into the new year if no election changes are made during Open Enrollment.  All participants must complete open enrollment on ADP to be enrolled in a Health Savings Account for 2023.  You will need to designate your per pay period amount to apply for all 26 pay periods (or 12 pay periods for monthly-paid staff). The annual limit on HSA contributions will be $3,850 for self-only and $7,750 for family coverage. With the GreenState provided HSA contribution of $750.10 and $1500.20 deducted, maximum coverage levels for staff for 2022 are:

  • Employee Only Coverage (under age 55) - $3,850 ($119.22 per pay period)

  • Employee Only Coverage (over age 55) - $4,850 ($157.68 per pay period)

  • All other Coverage Levels (under age 55) - $7,750 ($240.37 per pay period)

  • All other Coverage Levels (over age 55) - $8,750 ($278.83 per pay period)

Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account

A Limited Flex plan will also be available for HDHP participants and is typically advised for those that choose to fully fund their HSA plan but continue to have vision and dental needs over and above those fully funded levels.  Enrollment will occur electronically on ADP and must be an even dollar amount divided across 26 pay periods.  Maximum coverage level for 2023 is: $3,050 ($117.30 per pay period).  This plan allows a $610 carryover into the new year for any funds budgeted but not spent.

New in 2023, staff will now be eligible for up to three (3) preventative care visits per calendar year, the limitation on Posterior Composites (tooth-colored fillings on back teeth) has been removed, and coverage has been added for implants at a 40% coinsurance level.

Vision Insurance - VSP
