Open Enrollment 2024

Open Enrollment is the period where you can review, elect, decline, or make changes to your benefits for the upcoming calendar year.  Other than experiencing a Qualifying Life Event, Open Enrollment is your only opportunity to make benefit changes so make sure you complete the necessary steps if interested in making changes to your current elections.

Online Enrollment will begin 10/23/2023 and end 11/03/2023

Below are important details about the open enrollment period and effective date of your requested elections.

  • All open enrollment changes are to be made on ADP and must be completed by 5 PM on Friday, November 3, 2023.

  • The changes that you make to your benefits will take effect on 01/01/2024.

You must complete ADP open enrollment:

  • If you currently have a Medical FSA and/or Dependent Care FSA in 2023 and want to continue participation in 2023. Your existing enrollment will not carry over. You will need to re-enroll in a FSA, or Dependent Care FSA, for 2024.

  • If you want to make any changes to (or waive) your medical, dental, vision or HSA plans.

  • If you are not currently enrolled in any medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, or Dependent care plans, and wish to be enrolled effective 01/01/2024!

You do not need to complete ADP open enrollment if:

  • You have waived coverage for all benefits, and you wish to continue waiving coverage.

  • You have an existing Health Savings Account (HSA) and are satisfied with your current contribution level.

  • You are satisfied with your current health, dental, vision and HSA enrollments, and don’t plan to make any changes to these benefits. Health, Dental, Vision, and HSA enrollments will roll into the new year. *Please note, current FSA, or Dependent Care FSA will require a new enrollment for 2024.

2024 Plan Changes

We encourage you to educate yourselves about GreenState Credit Union's health coverage and other benefits, prior to making your final benefit elections for the upcoming year. This page, along with the Insurance tab is a good place to start.  Below you will find information highlighting changes for the calendar year of 2024.  You can also hear about these changes by watching this short 7-minute video.

Medical Rates

We are pleased to be able to continue to provide a choice in health plans for all staff by offering both a PPO and HDHP.  Due to increased utilization and growth, health insurance rates are increasing in 2024.  While initial quotes come in with a 26% increase, we were able to make adjustments to decrease the increase to total of 18% with GreenState taking on 75% of that increase in shared costs. There will be only one change to the HDHP plan design, due to new ACA requirements.  The new Deductible and Out-of-Pocket Maximum will be $3200 for Single coverage and $6400 for all other coverage levels.  (The PPO Out-of-Pocket Maximum remains unchanged at $3000 for Single and $6000 for all other coverage levels.)  Please take a look at the documents below to review the per pay period and monthly premium amounts as well as the Summary of Benefits and Coverage for both plans offered.

MedOne Pharmacy Benefit Manager

We will continue to use MedOne as our Pharmacy Benefits Manager and encourage you to review log-in and contact information for MedOne via by navigating to the insurance tab. As a reminder, due to the ongoing trend of high-cost prescriptions, Walgreens is no longer a covered pharmacy under our benefit plan beginning 01/01/2024. If you haven't already, now is the time to begin conversations with your pharmacist to begin steps to switch pharmacies.

There will continue to be a higher co-pay tier for prescriptions purchased at CVS, as it is considered a non-preferred pharmacy. The co-pay tier for CVS will be $20/$45/$60. For prescriptions purchased at other preferred pharmacies, such as Hy-Vee or Walmart, there will be a lesser co-pay of $4/$25/$40. Be sure to sign up for individual access to the MedOne portal to search for the lowest cost prescriptions in your area (under Rx Price Finder).   If you have questions regarding your specific prescription(s), please reach out to MedOne's Member Advocate Team at 888-884-6331 for assistance.

Also in 2024, MedOne will be integrated with GoodRx through the RxNxt program. Through use of this program, MedOne integrates up to a dozen discount programs as part of GoodRx, ultimately providing you with the lowest cost on your prescription. You will simply use your MedOne ID card and the review of lowest discounts will apply when picking up your prescriptions. Due to this enhanced benefit, you will receive NEW MedOne ID cards in the mail for 2024. Please keep an eye out of these ID cards, as they will come in a blank envelope. Your current cards will no longer be considered valid as of 01/01/2024.

Health Savings Account (HSA)

GreenState Credit Union will continue to offer the opportunity for HDHP participants to open and fund a Health Savings Account (HSA) with pre-tax dollars through payroll deduction.  We are pleased to share that an employer contribution will once again be provided in 2024 for all participants who contribute a minimum of $10 per pay period.

  • The employer contribution for 2024 will be $20.00 per pay period for Employee only coverage ($520 annually), and $40.00 per pay period for all other coverage levels ($1040 annually).

  • For those that are paid monthly, the employer contribution will be $43.33 per pay period for Employee only coverage ($519.96 annually), and $86.66 per pay period for all other coverage levels ($1039.92 annually).

For staff that participated in the HSA plan in 2024, current enrollments will automatically roll into the new year if no election changes are made during Open Enrollment.  HSA contributions are made on a per pay period basis and apply to all 26 pay periods (or 12 pay periods for monthly-paid staff). The annual limit on HSA contributions will be $4,150 for self-only and $8,300 for family coverage. With the GreenState provided HSA contribution of $520 and $1040 deducted, maximum coverage levels for staff for 2024 are:

  • Employee Only Coverage (under age 55) - $4,150 ($139.62 per pay period)

  • Employee Only Coverage (over age 55) - $5,150 ($178.07 per pay period)

  • All other Coverage Levels (under age 55) - $8,300 ($279.23 per pay period)

  • All other Coverage Levels (over age 55) - $9,300 ($317.69 per pay period)

Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account

A Limited Flex plan will also be available for HDHP participants and is typically advised for those that choose to fully fund their HSA plan but continue to have vision and dental needs over and above those fully funded levels.  Enrollment will occur electronically on ADP and must be an even dollar amount divided across 26 pay periods.  Maximum coverage level for 2024 is: $3,050 ($117.30 per pay period).  This plan allows a $610 carryover into the new year for any funds budgeted but not spent.

Full Purpose Flexible Spending Account

GreenState Credit Union's Full Purpose Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is a voluntary benefit which offers full-time employees with the opportunity to pay for select monthly out of pocket expenses with pre-tax dollars including:

  • Medical Expenses that aren't paid in full or covered under your medical, dental, and/or vision care programs

  • Dependent Care

Both Medical Expense and Dependent Care Reimbursement is available to all FT employees, regardless of health plan selection. Enrollment will occur electronically on ADP and must be an even dollar amount divided across 26 pay periods.  Maximum coverage levels for 2024 are:

In 2024, Delta Dental rates remain constant with no change. In addition, a couple of plan enhancements have been made:

  • The frequency of fluoride applications for dependents under the age of 19 has increased to be a benefit twice every 12 consecutive months (instead of once per benefit period.

  • The dependent age limit for sealants has increased from age 14 to age 19.

  • New in 2024 - Delta Dental has teamed up with Amplifon to offer hearing aid discount benefits for purchase. More information can be found here.
