Limited Purpose FSA (LPFSA)

If you are enrolled in the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) and are contributing to a Health Savings Account (HSA), you have access to a limited purpose health care flexible spending account (LPFSA), a medical reimbursement account. While you may only use the limited purpose health care FSA for dental and vision expenses, the account is intentionally is set up this way so that it can be used alongside a HSA.

Other than the restriction of eligible expenses to vision, dental and orthodontia, the rules governing the LPFSA are the same as those that apply to the Full Purpose FSA (FPFSA) - same maximum, same use or lose rule, same claim filing deadline.

​It is important to remember that you may only submit FSA claims that you incur while you are participating in the FSA plan. For example, if you stop working at GreenState Credit Union and end your FSA participation on June 30, claims for services through that date are eligible, but claims for services beginning July 1 are ineligible.​
